The last step in becoming a brand new company is getting a brand new name.

We are excited to announce our new name--Lucerna Academy!
"Lucerna," which is a Latin term for an ancient oil lamp, is a nod to our roots as Lampstand Learning Center and to our focus on providing homeschool students with a classical education rooted in the time-tested ideals of wisdom and virtue. While our name has changed, we are still the same passionate educators who have served you for the last 11 school years, and we look forward to serving you for many more!

Enrollment for 2021-2022 opens soon!

Vocabulary From Classical Roots
We now offer Vocabulary From Classical Roots courses starting at the upper grammar level all the way through high school. These full-year courses meet bi-weekly to equip students to determine unknown word meanings using Greek and Latin roots. This knowledge increases student vocabulary and reading comprehension, provides students with a useful, transferable technique for making sense of unfamiliar vocabulary across content areas, and prepares students for standardized tests including the SAT and ACT.
